Navy Vulcan S-60-101 hot air balloon, N8949E,
piloted by Jimmie Craig, an NWC employee who is
well-known for his sport balloon-racing activities,
as well as for introducing the use of balloons as
platforms for weapons program tests, was raised
Sunday morning to signal the start of the United Way
of Indian Wells Valley's 1975 campaign. Kern

MGen. Stewart C. Meyer (in center), CO of MASSTER
(Modern Army Selected Systems Test and Evaluation Review)
at Fort Hood, TX, examines a laser range finder as he
listens to a report from Capt. William Gaylor, test
officer on the AH-1G Cobra helicopter rocket gunnery
project. Army personnel from Fort Hood are currently
using the Center's Baker 1 and 2 range targets and facilities
at Airport Lake to evaluate a 2.75 in. fire control

RAdm. James H. Foxgrover, was greeted by NWC Commander
RAdm. R.G. Freeman III (l) at NAF last week after he
flew here from NAS Miramar in his TA-4 Skyhawk. RAdm.
Foxgrover was given an orientation on the Improved Weapon
Delivery System (IWDS) by Dr. Bill Smith and piloted
