Pneumatic isolation pads |
Nick Schneider adjusts the air pressure to the pneumatic
isolation pads on signal from Al Herbert. Each test
table in the new lab is individually mounted on concrete
pads weighing 4,000 pounds each. These pads are supported
by three servoed pneumatic pads which act as shock absorbers.
These pads are required to prevent vibrations from indigenous
traffic from coupling into the delicate instruments

Low altitude test firing |
A specially constructed fifty-foot tower, especially
designed to withstand helicopter operation, was built
by Code 30 for low altitude test firing. In this test,
the target was demolished and the tower was hardly damaged.
For this test, a surplus UH-19G helicopter (BuNo 138588)
